________________ Jain Prayers is a simple ceremony of waving a lamp or lamps in front of the representation of the Lord. People bid large amounts of money to have the privilege of doing such rituals. Those who do not believe in temple-worship, perform other forms of worship by way of prayers and meditation. Jains have a universal sympathy and this inspires them to seek fellowship with all people of faith. This is expressed in a famous prayer : "May all be happy May all remain radiant in health May all see beneficence and may no one feel miserable. I wish I had friendship and amity with all beings, a feeling of joy and appreciation at the sight of the virtuous; compassion for those who are in pain and complete equanimity in all situations adverse to me'. -51
