________________ All in Good Faith Forgiveness & Reconciliation Countless wrongs does the son, Forgives and remembers none, his mum. (Adi Granth) Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. (The New Testament) Then came Peter, and said to him, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times; but, Until seventy times seven. (The New Testament) If a wise one knowingly or unknowingly commits any sinful act, then on realising his mistake he immediately repents and takes more care in all his normal duties. (Dasvaikalika Sutra) As a child intentionally or unintentionally Commits many bad deeds The father tells off, scolds Then teaches and explains in many ways Then holds and embraces the child In the same way, the Lord blesses and forgives past sins And shows the right way. (Adi Granth) Were it not for the grace and mercy of Allah on you, and that Allah is full of kindness and mercy, Ye would be ruined indeed. Let not those among you who are endued with grace and amplitude of means resolve by oath against helping their kinsmen, those in want, and those who have left their homes in Allah's cause: Let them forgive and overlook. Do you not wish that Allah should forgive you? For Allah is oft-forgiving and merciful. (The Holy Qur'an) Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits - who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. (A Psalm of David) - 76 -
