He threatened—“You do not accept my advice. o t A I shall now kill your mother, cut her into three pieces with my F O sharp sword in your presence andshall do to her the same thing as S OT I have done with yoursons.” a W4 L o O Chulanipita had remained firm in meditation at the dreadful scene Ry x Oc O R ofthe brutal killings ofhis three sons, but when the question ofthe FA 7UCs O same treatment to his beloved mother arose, his courage gave in. O T PA 577Liy O He in anger got up to catch hold of the demon and spread his O C C2FAR hands. It was a conspiracy of demon-god. So the god disappeared TO4 O and Chulanipita held thepillar ofthe Paushadhshala in his hands. cE s t Chulanipita felt bewildered. He started shouting loudly. y g r o A When his mother Bhadra heard it, she soon came there and asked Y O her son the cause of his shouting. Chulanipita narrated the entire a o incident. The mother said—“Son ! It was an angelic turbulation. t k a or It was an angelic affair. All are safe. None has been killed. S n“As You have broken your vow by getting enraged. It was your folly. O N A T You should reperit for it.” Chulanipita accepted his mother’s advice O T A A and undertook austerities to condonehis folly. T O T L A Chulanipita followed the householder's vows for twenty years. T O He continuously adopted the eleven pratimas (restraints) of a a O t householder, one after the other. In the end he left food and water Pi RR o for one month and in Samlekhana had a quiet, meditational death. O t oFB He was re-born inArunprabh Viman ofSaudharma Devlok.
