विचिगिच्छ देस चिइवंदणनियमपोसहाईयं । सफलं विफलं व होज्ज, न नज्जए सव्व सव्वाणि ॥ ५५ ॥
५५. विचिकित्सा के दो भेद कहे हैं :- देश विषयक और सर्व विषयक । देश विषयक विचिकित्सा वह है जिसमें व्यक्ति चैत्यवंदन, नियम, पौषध आदि अनुष्ठान आंशिक रूप में सफल होंगे या विफल होंगे, इस सम्बन्ध में असमंजस की स्थिति में होता है। ये चैत्यवंदन आदि अनुष्ठान पूर्ण रूप से सफल होंगे या निष्फल होंगे अथवा इनका पूर्ण रूप से फल मिलेगा या नहीं, विचार आना सर्वविषयक विचिकित्सा है ।

55. (Suspicion is of two types - partial and complete.) Partial suspicion is that in which one is partially doubtful about the fruits of activities like paying homage to the images in temples, observing the codes, and austere practices like paushadh. Complete suspicion is total uncertainty that will these activities at all yield the desired fruits or not?
पुव्वपुरिसा जइच्चिय (जहोइय), मग्गचरा घड इ तेसु फलजोगो । अम्हेसू धिइसंघयणविरहओ न तह तेसि फलं ॥ ५६ ॥
५६. आगम निर्दिष्ट यथोचित मार्ग का अनुसरण करने वाले पूर्व पुरुषों को उनके पूर्वोक्त चैत्य वंदन, नियम, पौषध आदि अनुष्ठानों का फल मिल सकता है, किन्तु हम तो धृति और संहनन अर्थात् शारीरिक शक्ति से रहित हैं, अत: हमें वह फल कैसे मिल सकता है ?
56. Those who are steadfast in following the tenets of Agams and are strict in following the codes of conduct may get the fruits of the said activities. But we neither have patience nor the physical capacity to do so, therefore how can we get the desired fruits of those activities?
