कारण) कषाय आदि अशुभ कर्मोदय से उन व्रतों से पतित होकर व्यक्ति निन्दा / अनादार आदि का पात्र बन जाता है ।
105. After accepting the vows the continued efforts to remain steadfast in observing them cause the awakening of the feeling of detachment. If not, the strictness in observing the vows is reduced; consequently, due to rise of vile passions or evil karmas, the aspirant falls from his accepted level of vows and attracts criticism and disrespect.
तम्हा निच्चसईए, पडिवक्खदुगुंछाए,
तित्थंकरभत्तीए,
उत्तरगुणसद्धाए,
बहुमाणेणं 商 अहिगयगुणम्मि । परिणइआलोयणेणं

एत्थ
सुसाहुजणपज्जुवासणाए सया होइ जइयव्वं ॥१०७॥ १०६-१०७ अतएव श्रावक सर्वदा ध्यानपूर्वक अतिशय आदर के साथ गृहीत व्रत आदि की स्मृति रखे और उन के प्रतिपक्षी - मिथ्यात्व प्राणीवध आदि दुर्गुणों के दारुण फलों को देखकर उनकी आलोचना करे। तीर्थंकरो की भक्ति और सुसाधुजनों की पर्युपासना करते हुए श्रद्धापूर्वक उत्तरगुणों के लिए उसको सर्वदा उद्यम करना चाहिए ।
106, 107. Therefore a shravak should always, with selfawareness and extreme respect, work hard to be steadfast in observing these vows. While doing this he should examine and condemn their opposites, such as unrighteousness, falsehood, killing of beings, etc., along with their terrible consequences. He should worship the Tirthankars, admire the great ascetics, and sincerely desire to accept the secondary virtues.
