________________ INTRODUCTION MS., numbered 364. It was copied by Purohita Hariyaka at the instance of Sravaka Dharanaka at the time of Acharya Sri Jinabhadra Suri, the pupil of Sri Jinaraja Suri, in V.S. 1490 (1433 A.D.). This MS. has been utilised for the first time for the present edition. It includes both the Nyayabindu as well as the Nyayabindu-tika. Muni Sri Punyavijayji was kind enough to note down the variants of this MS. 4. D. This MS. also belongs to the same Bhandara at Jaisalmer. It is a palm-leaf MS., numbered 376. It appears to be older than the aforesaid C MS. It has been corrected here and there by some reader. The revered Muni Sri Punyavijayji conjectures that it belongs to the second half of the 13th century. Both the Nvaya-bindu and its commentary are included in it. This MS. has been utilised for the first time in this edition. Like those of the MS. C, its variants have also been made available by Muni Sri Punyavijayji. There are also some marginal notes in this MS. They were also copied by the said Punyavijayji. These notes have been printed in the present edition with the mark 'fo' in the foot-notes. Some notes of the D MS. have been included in the text of the MS. B (See text p. 94). It shows that this MS. is older than the MS. B. 5. P. The Nyaya-bindutika has been prepared on the basis of both the MSS. A and B., whereas the text of the Nyaya-bindu is finalised on that of the MS. B only. The second edition of this work was published in 1929 without any change whatsoever. Both these editions give at the outset the Nyaya-bindu-tika and at the end the text of the Nyaya-bindu. 6. E. This has been edited by Prof. Stcherbatsky and is published in the Bibliotheca Buddhica from Petrograd in 1918. It includes both the Nyaya-bindu and the Nyaya-bindu-tika. The editor has divided the Nyaya-bindu-prakarana into different sentences and has made it just like a sutra-grantha. The Nyayabindu-tika has been printed under the relevant Sutras of the
