________________ ( vii ) hoped that this work, which gives the text of the Nyayabindu and the Nyayahindutika also, will be found to be very valuable to the students of the Indian logic. I cannot conclude this introduction without expressing my indebtedness to that great and distinguished scholar, Pandit Sukhlalji,--who has been working only with his jnanachakshu for the last forty years, for kindly going through the text of the present work and making a number of valuable suggestions. I am also indebted to Muni Punyavijayaji for placing at our disposal two unpublished MSS of Nyayabindutika, which has enabled us to bring out a better edition of the text. We hope that the K. P. Jayaswal Research Institute will continue to receive such valuable and disinterested cooperation from such scholars in future also. The Bihar Research Society, Patna, is the owner and custodian of the photo-negatives of the Sanskrit MSS, brought from Tibet by Tripitakacharya Rahula Sanksityayana, which are being utilised for the publication of this Series. The K. P. Jayaswal Research Institute desires to express its indebtedness to the Society for placing these MSS photographs at its disposal for their decipherment and publication. 1-9-1955 A. S. ALTEKAR Hon. Director, K. P. Jayaswal Research Institute, Patna.
