Explanation & Discussion:
After stating the importance of reverence on the part of pupil, Shrimad here indicates what would happen, if a wrong guru takes advantage of the pupil's reverence with a selfish motive. The wrong guru is the one who is not enlightened. The wrong guru takes undue advantage of reverence for the purpose of acquiring name, fame, and recognition. This means extreme disregard for all enlightened (true) Gurus and all others who are on the path of liberation. This is also extreme disregard for his own pure soul. By taking undue advantage, the wrong guru would acquire intense delusive Karma and would stay in worldly existence for very long time.
