Chapter 10: Guru's Explanation about the Soul being Karta

કેવળ હોત અસંગ જો, ભાસત તને ન કેમ ? અસંગ છે પરમાર્થથી, પણ નિજભાને તેમ.

Had the soul been entirely unbound,
why do you not experience that? In absolute sense it is unbound, but that
is only subject to self-realization.
Explanation & Discussion:
In chapter two, we discussed the Nishchay Nay or the absolute point of view. From that point of view, the soul is unbound and stays pure forever. The Sänkhya and Vedänt philosophies are based on that. While presenting the case of the soul not being the Kartä, the pupil resorted to that viewpoint and argued that the soul embodies total purity; it always remains spotless and unadulterated. It cannot therefore be involved in anything that would attract Karma particles. As such, it should stay unbound. It should be noted that this argument is analogous to the stand point of the bare knowledgeable persons.
The Guru now points out that what the pupil said is correct from the absolute point of view. But that is the ideal state, which denotes the state of liberation. Liberated souls are pure and stay pure forever. The worldly soul, however, remains attached to
