________________ Chapter 16: Guru's Exposition about the Path and Means of Liberation પાંચે ઉત્તરની થઈ, આત્મા વિષે પ્રતીત; થાશે મોક્ષોપાયની, સહજ પ્રતીત એ રીત. Pänche Uttarni Thai, Ätmä Vishe Pratit; Thäshe Mokshopäyani, Sahaj Pratit E Rit. IIGUII As you are convinced at heart about the five replies, so will you be easily convinced about the means of liberation. Jain Education International - 97 Explanation & Discussion: From the questions of the pupil, the Guru figures out that the pupil has become impatient to understand the path of liberation. He therefore advises him to calm down. The real problem was at the stage of the earlier Fundamentals. Most of the aspirants generally get stuck at those stages. Here, the pupil is entirely convinced of the first five Fundamentals. Shrimad has therefore used the phrase, "Thai Ätmä Vishe Pratit." It means that the conviction has reached the deep level within; and not merely at the superficial level. That happens only if one contemplates at length about what he has heard or read. The pupil has contemplated at length about what the Guru has said. Thereby the conviction of the first five Fundamentals has reached deep in his heart. For Private & Personal Use Only 176 This type of conviction indicates the worthiness of the pupil. It shows that he was not asking the questions for the sake www.jainelibrary.org
