________________ Karma. I am yog to generate a scientific model that may explain the various aspects of Karmic interaction. Incidentally, I got a wonderful opportunity to present my research work at an International Conference on 'Scienes in Jainism'. It was held at Pratapgarh (Raj.) during Oct. 11 - 14, 2002 under the kind guidance and supervision of great scientist Acharya Ratna 108 Shri Kanaknandi Gurudev. It was participated by more than 50 scholars of various disciplines. Without going into the preamble or details of the conference, I mention a specific event that motivated me to write this article. I gave a suggestion at the end of the presentation of a scholar - 'we should not put our emphasis on those areas or issues, which have been now well understood in modern science, while our aim should be to highlight those gray areas where science has not yet arrived fully or partially and the intervention of our religion may improve present understanding. In this context, I requested Gurudev to briefly describe such thrust areas where we can undertake detailed investigation, which may contribute to science signigicantly. I am truely overwhelmed with the depth of knowledge in Jainism and its understanding in scientific perspective. Perhaps it is the reason he is widely known as a Scientific Saint. Considering my comment very seriously, Gurudev, recently, prepared a document and sent me where he has kindly suggested many potential research areas as follows. I would strongly recommend you to give a loud thought on thses suggestions, however without biasing to present knowledge in any scietific discipline. I also feel this is another wonderful opportunity provided by Gurudev, and if not used with a fully defined strategy and potentiality, we may miss the Bus again. 1. The genetic science and engineering is at the edge and presently not able to explain the thrust issues based on the theory of the cells information and decay, and DNA or genes. I believe introduction of Karmanu in the space and their interaction with Kārmic body may perhaps reply many unanswered questions to the modern genetic science. However, it needs to adopt Jaina model and conduct vast investigation. 2. The medical science is not getting success in searching the treatment/therapy of many diseases. In fact, the fundamental concept to define the living organism and the human body itself is wrong. A serious rework is required in context to definition of human body in preview to Jaina model where it as a composite structure of five distinct bodies including tejas and kārmic bodies.
