________________ Brief accounts of chapter III of Surasundaricariam After introducing Supratistha with that old man Dhanadeva asks the old man to tell some thing about himself. The old man says that he is Chitravega, born in the city of Ratnasancaya situated on Vaitādhya mountain of Bharata Kșetra where his father King Pavanagati and mother Queen Bakulamati used to live with so many Vidyadharas. Citravega says that once he went Siddhakūta with his father. There during a festival organized on the eve of Madana Trayodaśī he meets a beautiful nymph Kanakmālā, the only daughter of Amitagati and Chitramālā. He falls in love with Kanakamālā. The condition of Kanakamālā is also the same. Through Somalatā, the messenger of Kanakamālā, Citravega gets message from Kanakamālā that she wants to meet him, in the garden at early morning. Excited with the meeting, Citravega passes the difficult night anyhow in anticipation to see her beloved with a bright sunrise. Here the third chapter ends. Summary of Chapter IV In the forth Chapter Śrīmad Dhaneśvara Sūri describes further the story of Citravega and Kanakamālā who have fallen in love. Citravega is informed that Kanakamālā is going to be married with Nabhavāhana, the son of the King Gandhavāhana of Gangāvarta Gandharava Nagara. He became upset that after few days Kanakamālā would become queen of some one else. Chitramālā, the mother of Kanakamālā knew that she has fallen in love with Citravega and King Amitgati wants to marry Kanakamālā with Nabhavāhana. She assures Kanakamālā not to worry as she will be married only to Citravaga. In the meanwhile Amitagati returns from Khecara Nagara. Citramālā briefs. him about the relation of Citravega and Kanakamālā. Amitgati says Chitramālā that when he was in Khecara Nagara, a young man came to King Gandhavähana and informed him about arrival of his father Suravāhana Muni at Citrakūta Sikhara of Vaitādhya who after leaving all worldly attachments has become omniscient. Gandhavāhana accompanied by Amitagati goes to meet his father. Naravāhan Muni in his sermon talks about the futility of the worldly relations and availability of human birth hardly. Gandhavāhana influenced with his father decides to leave the world and to get initiated.
