अहिंसा।
These are known to be the fruits of the killing of living beings viz: a broken arm, dumbness, deafness, blindness, grief and misfortunes.
दठूण पाणि-निवह भीमे भव-सायरम्मि दुक्खत्तं । अविसेसा अणुकंप दुहावि सामत्थओ कुणइ ॥ १४४ ॥ दृष्ट्वा प्राणिनिवहं भीमे भवसागरे दुःखार्तम् । अविशेषादनुकम्पा द्विधापि सामर्थ्यतः कुर्यात् ॥ १४४ ।।
Seeing living beings suffer misery in the terrible sea of life, a person should according to his ability, extend his pity, without any distinction, in both ways viz : by deed and will.
खण-मित्त-सुक्ख-कज्जे जीवे निहणंति जे महा-पावा। हरिचंदन-वण-संडं दहति ते छार-कज्जम्मि ॥ १४५॥ क्षणमात्रसौख्यकायें जीवान् निघ्नन्ति ये महापापाः । हरिचन्दनवनषण्डं दहन्ति ते क्षारकायें ॥ १४५ ॥
Those vile sinful persons who for the sake of a womentary pleasure, kill animals are like those who bura a part of Harichandana forest ( u yellow and fragrant sort of sandal wood ) for the sake of obtaining its soda.
