________________ ( 3 ) Matijniina and Shrutajnūna are preparatory to this Anubhav rjnāna, and Anubhavajn na finally leads on to absulute knowledge i. e, I coulojnūnas. Matijnāna is generated by senses. When vibrations from the external objects come in colltact with senses, organs etc, an awakening in the sense organ is aroused called Vyanjanīvagraha." Then mind is brought into contact with them and the apprehension that follows is called Arthāragraha. The next stage is Thã in which the mind comprehends similarities and differences.. The third stage is Apūya when mind concludes :a8 to what the subject is or is not. Then the final stage is Dharanã where the object concluded is repeatedly remembered, Shrutajnānn is the knowledge got by interpretation of signs. Words are the signs of ideas. It also means the knowledge received from holy texts. Avadhijnana is the psychic knowledge, i. e. knowledge of material things known by the soul
