Notes:-. According to Jainis:n there are two ways through the medium of which knowledge can be received. They are:-(1) Direct perception or immediate knowledge (2) Inference from the facts of actual observation or records, or mediate knowledge. The first is called Pratyaksha including Kevalajnūna, Manahparyavajnūna and Avadhijnūna and the sense perception of ordinary living beings, Matijnāla (Samvyavaluiropratyaksha). The second includes under it (1) the Shrutajnõna (2) that which je intellectually inferred.
