________________ 142-148 ) English Translation 23 In the same way, there arose Omniscience in the case of Ashadhabhuti while he was enacting the part of king Bharata as a result of his extremely pure mental condition although he was a householder. (142). It should be known that there exists as much difference between the material worship and the mental one as there exists between the Meru mountain and the mustard seed. (143). By material worship a man can go at the most to the Achyuta Heaven; while by mental worship he may get Absolution within one Muhurta even. (144). There are situated in the human world only five Mahavidehas (holy places); in each Mahavideha there are thirtytwo holy places named Vijaya. (145). By multiplying thirtytwo by five, the Vijaya places in all become one hundred and sixty. By adding to these the five in Bharata and the five in Airavata, the holy places in all become one hundred and seventy. (146). (One for each holy place) there can be at the most one hundred and seventy Jinas at a time.
