________________ Shri Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra www.kobatirth.org Acharya Shri Kailassagarsuri Gyanmandir (ix) is accepted in the Madanaparijata (14). According to Dr. Kane, the famous Smsti work Madanaparijata was compiled between 1360-1390 A.D. (15). Thus the anterior and posterior limits for this work of Vidyakara being sind between 1330 & 1360 A. D. he may safely be taken as Smrti writer of the second half of fourteenth century. The name of all the works by Sambhukara are not known. Only two of his small works named Sraddhapaddhati and Vivdhapaddhati have been printed and published in Oriya characters. From the unpublished volumes of Notices of about ten thousand palmleaf manuscripts, which are now preserved in our museum, the names of the following unpublished works by Sambhukara are obtained; (1) fagia TIA : (2) aftasta gtagraagafa: (3) garatania igrafa: (4) TFA Tia: (5) Fake yatafa (6) fararearadt (7) slarara fatfai, Last year, a palmleaf manuscript (Dh/137a) containing the major portion of affacta 614 Teta: by Sambhukara has been acquired and search for others is being continued. But his most important work on Smrti which was accepted as an authority by the later writers was called 'Sambhukara Paddhati' or Sambhu Paddhati. Visvanatha Misra an Oriya Smrti writer of the 17th century has quoted five tinies from this work in his Smrtisara-samgraha. Subsquent writers of the same century. e. & VipraMiera in his Sradhapradipa and Divyasimha Mabapatra in his Sraidhadipa also refer to this notable work of Sambhukara. But a complete . manuscript of this work has not yet been found out. About the works of Vidyakara it may be noted that only the first part of his work on Nityachira (16) consisting of eight parts has been published by the Asiatic Society of Bengal, while the remaining seven parts are yet to be brought out. The editor of this work Pandita Vinodavihari Bhattacharya has quoted a verse from another work by Vidyakara named 'Aifar' which still remains unpublished.
