________________ Shri Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra www.kobatirth.org Acharya Shri Kailassagarsuri Gyanmandir (xxxriii) which is referred to in this work e. g., “उपचास तत्र शुद्धसर्वस्वे वक्ष्यामः" He was perhaps the author of a work named acuaata the mamscript of which has found in a village near Puri. A great scholar as he was he might have written some other works on Smrti, the names of which , remain yet to be discovered. - VISVAMBHARA MISRA: Another Smrti-writer of the 18th century is Visvambhara Mikra * anthor of 'Smrti. Dipika' a manuscript of which has been noticed by M. M. Chakravarti (76). The introductory verses of his work mn as follows-; मन्वादिशास्त्रनिचय स्वगुरोरधोत्य, हेमाद्रिमाधवमतानि विचार्य यत्नात् श्रीवाजपेयि कमलाकर दिव्यसिंह स्मार्रादितत्त्व मनुस्मृत्य करोमि किञ्चित् / सन्ति यद्यपि धीराणां स्मृतिग्रन्धाश्च कोटिशः | तथापि सारमाकृष्य क्रियते नूतनोद्यमः : प्रकाशैदेशभिनून सर्वदिक सम्प्रकाशकैः / विश्वम्भरेण सुधिया क्रियते स्मृतदीपिका / / Visvambhara may be placed later 1700 A. D. as le pays his respects to Divyasimha Mahapatra who flourished in the second half of the 17th century, in the first introductory verse of his work. No review of this work is possible for want of its manuscript in our museum. - - - VASUDEVA TRIPATHI: Two works on Prayaschitta assignable to the period (1600-1750) are प्रायश्चित्त विलोचन by Vasudeva Tripathi (77) andl प्रायश्चित्त मनोहर by Murari Misra. Vasuuleva begins his work after praying to God Rama e.g. धीराम स्मरकोटिसुन्दरतरं कामं नमस्कृत्य तप्रायश्चित्तविलोचन• वितनुते श्रीवासुदेव सुधीः / According to traction the author belonged to Balagore area, where manuscripts of this work are discovered.
