The date of copy of the manuscript of this work discovered in village Perlagadhi of the present Mayarbhanja District is Saka 16CH or 1742 A. D. (77) which fxes the latest limit for this work. The enterior limit for this cannot be fixed with certainty unless manscripts of this work are examined. MURARI MISRA: goofwaadist hy Murari Miera begins with a verse, which states that Murari Migra, the son of Kahnu Misra is the anthor of this work e. g., TRAErtit fastur FIE NET agar क्रियते व्यवहारार्थ प्रायश्चितमनोहरम् / / .. There are two complete manuscripts of this work in our collec. tio (Dh/114 and Dh/182) This work seems to be pretty old and quotes from Smotis written by ancient Rshis and refers to earlier Smrti-writers like Bhavadeva, Lakshnidhara, Vijnanesvara, and Sulapani (78). Sulapani being an author of the second half of the 15th certury Murari Misra who quotes him may definitely be placed after 1500 A. D. MAGUNI. MISRA: Magini Miera worte a work on aingi a portion of which is found in a manuscript preserved in our museum (Dh/57). A chapter of his work e. g., grogalai arforint fatian Tafecoafarifafa: is found quoted in gragrmitat hy Chandracekhara which was copied in 48 Anka (agartz) or 38th year of Virakesari Dera I, Raja of Khurda (1736-1792) The year of copy being equivalent to 1774 A. D. Magani Miera may tentatively he placed at least half a century before that date. He was also the author of another work called agafat: a manuscript of which Dh/78 is in our collection.
