________________ Shri Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra www.kobatirth.org Acharya Shri Kailassagarsuri Gyanmandir (XLIV) The writing of this work was finished in Sala year Kha (0) Sunya (O), Muni (7), and Chandrama (1) - 1700 or 1778 A. D.. He got the title or factor froin Cajapati Virakesari Deva I (1736-1793) A. D. who was a great patron of learning, most probably for writing the drama ATA AIT A in seven Acts, which was staged in the Jagannatha temple at Puri before an assembly of learned schol urs. His #fies which refers to a large numbar of works and anthors is recognised as a standard work in Oris-a. With Kavibhushana Govinda closes the history of Dharmasastra literature in Orissa which began in the eleventh century with the great Satananda Acharya. No Smrtiwork is knowr to have been compiled during the long British regime in Orissa (1803-1947) except the FETITTA EFT by the late Mahi rahopadhyaya Sadasiva Misra Karyakantha of Puri of this century. I an liighly grateful to Sri Para nananda Acharya, Superintendent of Arhaeology, Orissa, Bhubaneswar who luas always helped me with his valuable suggestion , while carrying on research on the sivstiwriters of Orissa during the last seven years.
