From the FETETU and the last verse of a work namely प्रायश्चित्त दीपिका a palmleaf manuscript of which (Dh/91B) is preserved in the Manuscripts library of the Orissa State Museum, we know that its author Ramachandra Vajapeyi was the disciple of Samrat Agnichit Vidya-, kara and was the son of Samrat Surya Dasa. He wrote this work while living in the holy नैमिषारण्य e.g. : मङ्गलाचरणम् प्रणम्य परमात्मानमीश्वरं नरकेशरीम् तस्य संप्रीतये चैव लिख्यते रामपद्धतिः / समाजोग्निचिदो मत्वा विद्याकरगुरोः पदे राम: पद्धतिमादत्त प्रायश्चितस्य दीपिकाम् // शेषश्लोक ऋज्जीमेताग्निचिद् रामचन्द्रः सूतैकार्थी नैमिषारण्यवासः / सम्राजः श्री सूर्य्यदासस्य सूनुः प्रायश्चित्तपद्धति संव्यवत्त // इति श्री रामचन्द्रवाजपेयिविरचिता प्रायश्चितपद्धतिः समाप्ता। This Vidyakara is identical with the great Vidyakar: whose life history is given before. There is another palmleaf manuscript named कुंडलक्ष्मविवृति Jy/19(a), by Rama.
