The Negative form of Non-Violences in Religion
The negative form of non-violence is the prohibition of violences. So, here it is needed to know the violences occurring in the religious field. In all religions there are two classes - (i) the class of those persons who are followed by common people and (ii) the class of those persons who follow their religious guides. The former class consists of saints, seers, ascetics, monks, nuns etc. under whose guidance householders lead their religious life. The later class consists of house holders both male and female who with respect, regard and faith follow their prophets. In this way, saints and prophets are known as the main organisers of religions and their conduct lights the path of ordinary people. It is the religious duty of house holders to follow their prophets honestly and interestedly, co that religion may be proved as the peace giver to society. The proper religious life of any society depends on the conduct of both monks and house holders. The violation of the code of conduct either by monks or by house holders may cause violence in society and violence pushes a society to decay not development. Though religious prophets and their followers are found very careful in conducting their careers, several faults are seen in their behaviour which result into the violation of ethical code. Some examples of violation of moral law, i.e. violence, may be cited up here to show the present condition of religion in our society.
1) Misinterpretation of others' scriptures:
Generally due to envy religious teachers misinterpret the scriptures of other religions so that wrong ideas may be created in society against other religions. The followers of almost all religions treat their own religion as the oldest and the greatest one. Due to this narrow mindedness they think that whatever right may be in this world, have been introduced in their scriptures and the scriptures of other religions are full of useless things. But actually, no religion should be considered as the most superior or superior to any other religion because all religions pave the path to the same ultimate reality.
