________________ १४१ to his native place. They are found so related with the people living around their Matha or Aśrama that they (common people) consider them their own monks and nuns. Though monks and nuns should be of no place and of no person. Without considering the proper necessity of some religious or academic institution they try to establish them near about their own places with a view to achieving fame of their own names and places. c) Parently Attachment - Monks and nuns are also found attached to their disciples as ordinary parents are seen attached to their sons and daughters. They feel pleasure or pain for their disciples as in worldly life parents enjoy pleasure and suffer pain different on issues. This sort of feeling creates jealousy among different monks and their disciples. Attraction towards worldly life - · Saintliness is nothing but renunciation of worldly life. That is why after accepting monkhood man leaves aside all names, dynasties, dresses, dishes, degrees, decorums of worldly life. He remains neither son nor father, nor husband nor brother of anybody. He is recognized simply as a religious man. People respect him without considering his age and qualification. The householders bow their heads to him only because he is a saint or monk and not because he is B.A. or M.A. But these days young monks and nuns are fascinated towards academic degrees which are of no use for them. Instead of remembering Rāma, Krişna, Khudā, Mahāvira, Buddha, Christ and the like they remember the names of ordinary authors and their books expected to be asked in the examinations they are preparing to appear at. Saints should study only scriptures so that they may attain true knowledge presented theirin by former saints and seers, otherwise saintliness is pulled down by the efforts done for degrees and diplomas. When saintliness is relegated, it goes towards various forms of violence. Influence of cinema on religion These days religion is being influenced by cinema. The followers of different religions sing parodies as prayers. The parodies consist of religious terms and cinema tunes. Even monks and nuns are composing parodies used as prayers. It is well understood that till a man is not well versed in cinema-songs he cannot compose a parody in cinema-tune. The cinema scene with which the particular song is concerned may come in
