व्यासः महर्षिः एतद् भणति - यदि श्रुतिशास्त्रं प्रमाणम् । मातृणां चरणौ नमतां दिवसे दिवसे गङ्गास्नानम् ॥
Vyasa, the great sage says thus: If the Veda and the Satara are to be regarded as authoritative, then those who salute the feet of their mother get the merit of bathing in the Ganges every day. '
व्यासनोपि भारतस्तम्भे बद्धम् ।
" Vyasa also has said this in the Bharata books. " The other reading gives व्यासेनापि भारतं स्तम्भे बद्धम्. For want of context the meaning of the line is uncertain.
400. The द of आपद्, सपद् and विपद् is changed to इ in अपभ्रंश.

अनय कुर्वनः पुरुषस्य आपद् आयाति ।
“ Calamity befalls a person who does wrong deed. ” गुणहिं न संप=iv. 335.
कथ, यथा and तथा have कैम ( केव ) किम, ( किवँ ) कि,

किध; जेम जिम, जिह, जिध; तेम, तिम, तिह, तिघ, in अपभ्रंश.
कथं समाप्यतां दुष्टं दिनं कथ रात्रिः यदि ( छुडु ) भवति । नववघुदर्शनलालसकः वहति मनोरथान् सोऽपि ॥
"How will this wicked (tedious) day come to an
end? when will the night come ? ( so) he who is eager to meet his bride cherishes longings.

"ओ गौरीमुखनिर्जितक: वार्दले निलीनः मृगाङ्कः ।
अन्योऽपि यः परिभूततनुः सकथ भ्रमति निःशङ्कम् ॥
“ I think ( ओ सूचनायाम् ), the moon hides himself in the mass of clouds ( बद्दल = वादळ in Marathi) being defeated by the face of the fair maid; how can he whoever is thus defeated, wander fearlessly ?" लुक्क is निलीनः, cf. लपणे, लुकणे in Marathi.
बिम्बाधरे तन्व्याः रदनॠणः कथं स्थितः श्रीआनन्द । निरुपमरसं प्रियेण पीत्वेव शेषस्य दत्ता मुद्रा ॥
" 0 आनन्द, how does the tooth-mark on the bimbalike nether lip of the fair one stand ? ( the reply is ): her lover has drunk its excellent juice () and has put as it were a seal to it (so that no other should taste it)."
