" It is difficult to give away one's money; it does not. occur ( to any one ) to perform ansterities ; the mind desires to enjoy happiness but is unable to do so." ___जेतुं त्यक्तु सकलां धरां लातु तपः पालयितुम् / विना शान्तिना तीर्थेश्वरेण कः शाक्नोति भुवनेऽपि // "Who except the aieffat surfa is able in this world to conquer and then abandon the whole earth, to take the vow and observe it?" 442. गत्वा वाराणसी नराः अथ उज्जयिनी गत्वा / मृताः प्राप्नुवन्ति परम पद दिव्यान्तराणि मा जल्प // "By going to Benares and then visiting Ujjain men. attain the highest place after their death; do not speak of other holy places." गङ्गां गत्वा यः नियते यः शिवतीर्य गत्वा / क्रीडति त्रिदशावासगतः स यमलोक जित्वा / "He who dies after having visited the Ganges and Benares (शिवतीर्थ) conquers यमलोक and enjoys the sport in heaven. 443. हस्ती मारयिता लोकः कथयिता / पटहः वादयिता शुनकः भषिता // " Elephant is in the habit of killing, people in the habit in the habit of barking." 444. न मल्लजुज्झु-iv. 382. रव्यस्तमने समाकुलेन कण्ठे वितर्णिः न छिन्नः। चक्रेण खण्डः मृणालिकायाः ननु जीवार्गलः दत्तः॥ ed ( at the soparation from his mate) and did not eat the piece of the lotus-fibre though he had put it into his mouth; it was as if put there as a bar ( so that his life should not depart)." वलयावलीनिपतनभयेन धन्या ऊर्श्वभुजा याति / वल्लहविरहमहादस्य स्ताघं गवेषतीव // "On account of the fear of dropping down her brace
