________________ Upagati Chanda : • The fourteenth verse of the first pariccheda of the 14th chapter is composed in Upagati chanda. खेत्वरसंशा गुटिका पतति मुखे क्षिप्तमात्रेण । । देवासुरसिद्धगणैः पूज्यतमो भवति चेन्द्रायः ॥१४. २४॥ Drutavilamavitā Chanda : This chanda has been used in the composition of the 61st verse of the second Pariccheda of the 14th chapter as noted here. नमदनुग्रहदत्तनिजेच्छया । प्रकथित कृपया अगदबया ॥ गुरुपर परायाभिगत भवेत् । कनकपर पौरुषवत् परमक्षयम् ॥१४. २. ६२॥ Sragdhara Chanda : Lastly Jinadatta Sari, the author of the Suvarņa-Raupya-Siddhi-Šāstra has adopted a Sragdhara chanda in the composition of the 62nd, 63rd, 64th, 65th, 66th, and 67th, verses of the second Pariccheda of the fourteenth chapter, e. g. ध्यायन् हो कारमादौ पलभितमुपसगृह्य शुद्ध रसेन्द्रम् । नित्यं तन्माषमात्र नवनव. यवनेष्टारसर्भावयित्वा ।। सूक्ष्मेण स्वर्ण पित्रोण सह पलमितेनैव समदर्य खल्वे ॥ शुद्ध सिद्ध तदेतन्निरुपमगुटिकाकारतः कल्पयेत्तत् ॥१४. २. ६२॥ Style of writing and method of exposition. The style of a work is the voice of words uttered by its author, producting an effect on the feelings of the readers by its action working upon their conscious minds. It may be both personal and impersonal. . The style of the Suvarna - Raupya - Siddhi - Sastra used by its author, Jinadatta Suri in presentation of its contents and in dealing with its subjectmatter is mainly of two characters, viz., poetry and prose, with some variations. It begins with th: metre of poetry in composing its verses in the first chapter and ends with the metre in the composition of the last chapter (14th chapter). But all the intermediate chapters originate with prose containing alchemical thoughts and practices.
