This Ms. is highly valuable since it helps the researcher with correct readings, of course with the dentalisation of sibilants at times in some words, as for instance, in "isam" of the very first line of the first folio, and omission of Anusvara, as in "guru". 6.4.3. P1 Ms. This is a paper Ms. stored in the Vadi Parsvanath Jain Jnana Bhandar at Patan (North Gujarat). It is listed in Catalogue of Patan Jain Bhandaras at No. 6608, Dabhla No. 168, under the name "Buddhisagaravyakarana Pancagranthi", consisting of 104 folios. The date of this Ms. is 1948 V. Sam. The size of the folios is 30.5 x 11.1 Cms, while that of the written portion is 25.4 x 8.7. Cms. The size of the letters is about 0.3 Cm. The writing is in Padi-matra style in Devanagari. The title of the work is written, at the top of the left margin in line with the 2nd and 3rd lines, a "Buddhisagara-krta vyakarana". In the middle of the pages of each folio there is a thumb space of about two square Cms. and there is artistic design of a circle with floral or spear-like outline attached to it on the upper and lower diametrical points. In the circle in the left margin some illegible Nagari syllables like 93, rghu and rgra are written one upon another vertically, while in the circle in the right margin the continuous folio numbers beginning with - 967 are written. At the same time, fresh folio numbers beginning with 1 are mentioned on the B page of each folio far below the last line's allignment in the corner below. The writing indicating the end of a verse, etc. is sought to be indicated by red background of the black letters. The background of the circles in the either margins, as also of the doubled two border-lines on the either side of the written portion too is in red ink. Page A of the first folio is as usual blank and to preserve it from further deterioration it is pasted with double-folded blank paper. Each page of the folios contains 17 lines and each line contains about 79 syllables. The writing on page B of the 1st folio starts with a Bhale sign followed by "// Namah sarvajnaya// Siddham jinam sarwavidam niramjanam" etc., in the first line. Since this Ms. is in some parts of the folios damaged by white ants, and since the folios in some cases have been stuck to each other due to moisture, it is very difficult to handle it, since the paper has become rather brown and brittle. . From a cursory glance even on the first folio one can see the beginning of the corrupt readings right from the first verse of Mangal, in which the correct reading "sabdasya laksma' budha" is written as "sabdalaksmya' budha" dropping "sya" and 'converting ksma to "ksmya".
