From 1.2.1.1.lc onwards the Linganusasana proper starts and the auto-commentary discusses each and every word listed in the verses. From 1.2.1.2 onwards the formation of bases for declension of nouns is taken up. From 1.2.4.12 there is the prescription of the process of Natva, Satva, Dirghatva of the vowel in the initial syllable of nouns and verses, the Dirghatva, the Padanta-vidhi, Kurva, Tutva, Subvidhi. From 1.2.13.1 starts the declension of pronouns and nouns ending in 'a', from 1.2.15.1 that of 'asmad' and yusmad', from 1.2.18.1 that of the nouns ending in 'y' and consonants, from 1.2.21.1 that of numerals, and miscellaneous prescriptions pertaining to declension of nouns and compounds. 7.8. The Third Pada of the First Adhyaya commences with the enumeration of the case-terminations in 1.3.1.1 and then begins the discussion about the uses of the cases, viz., accusative from 1.3.1.2, instrumental from 1.3.4.1, dative from 1.3.4.5, ablative from 1.3.4.6, locative from 1.3.4.7, and genetive from 1.3.4.8. Then follows the formation of feminine bases from 1.3.5.1 upto the end of the Pada. 7.9. The Fourth Pada of the First Adhyaya treats the formation of compounds, viz., Dvandva, Bahuvrihi, Avyayibhava, Tatpurusa, and the compound endings thereof. 7.10. The First Pada of the Second Adhyaya enumerates the Ganas in connection with compounds and continues the discussion of the compoundendings, terminations retained in the first member of the compounds, medial 'insertions, changes of gender, and substitutions in the compounds. 7.11. The Second Pada of the Second Adhyaya is devoted to the discussion about various uses of words in different types of sentences, repetitions of words in different contexts and situations, verbs derived from nouns, comparatives and superlatives. 7.12. The Third and the Fourth Padas of the Second Adhyaya treat 'the Taddhita-suffixes in connection with various Ganas and various Nipatas. 7.13. The First, Second and the Third Padas of the Third Adhyaya treat the saisikas. 7.14.
