I have just learned from your letter that the Jain community has appointed you successor of the late great Acharyaji Vijaya Dharma Suri and has conferred upon you his title of Acharya. I can but feebly express to you the joy I feel at the justice which has been done to your merits. Permit me to congratulate you on your new position, the more so, as it enables you to employ the high capacity and eminent qualities of which you have always made so noble and generous a use. I especially address my congratulations to your friends and your disciples for having appointed a man Acharya who will continue the great work began by his predecessor.
If there is published an account of the ceremonies performed on the occasion of your investiture on April 21st inst., I should like very much to read it for using it for my book. May I also ask you to send me a photograph of the festival
