There is not, to my knowledge, any European translation of the Vasudevahindi except a translation of a few selections from it into Norwegian by the late Dr. Sten Konow, which, however, I have never seen. I have only vaguely hear about it and do not know where it was publisbed. I shall, however, make enquiries, and in case they are successful I shall let you know.
I have indeed contacts with the German Embassy in Delhi. I know the Ambassador well and saw him repeatedly in Delhi during my stay there in the spring of this year. I know also a number of other gentlemen of the Embassy, and one of the lady typists is a student of mine.
Dr. Tavadia is working as lecturer at my Seminary. So his address is the same as mine. I have told him of your enquiry.
As to my literary activities, they are at present somewhat restricted because I have been elected Dean of my Faculty and have to perform that function until the end of March, 1954. It means a very great deal of additional administrative and other duties I am, however, trying to do at least some research work. I have completed a book on the geography and history of India which is now, going to the press. Besides, I have to finish and edit a bulky work on Vedic religon by my revered Guru Prof. Dr. Luders of Berlin which he left unfinished when he died in 1942. I published the first volume in 1951 and am now working on the second. As the MS. was badly damaged and
