The Perverse Agent. - When an Agent becomes a hindrance towards the accomplishment of his task it is the figure of the Perverse Agent, as for example:

When one person desires the good or bad qualities of another, it is the figure of Sympathetio Result, as for example:
The Ganges has but one hope, - that the pious may bathe in her and communicate to her their purity.'
[This figure is more usually explained, as occurring, when the good or bad qualities of one person, cause bad or good qualities to arise in another, as for instance the budding beauty of a new bride, causing her co-wives to become ugly, through despair - Aura ké guna té dúsku.
