Fig. 7 protons and two neutrons; that means an alpha particle. This is another example of muret i.e., filling a gap. At the same time the lower figure shows that the nucleus bursts and the two alpha particles fly in opposite directions, i.e., Trefri. It shows that in this case the processes of combination (ure) and dissociation (Tops) proceed side by side resulting in the transformation of a lithium atom into two alpha particles. The case of beryllium metal is interesting. As Fig. 8 (see next page) shows there are two alpha particles and one neutron inside its nucleus. The lower circle of Fig. 8 shows how the bullet gets embedded in the nucleus and the neutron is shot out. This is again a case of combination and partial dissociation. The resulting
