(34) निशम्य तद्वचः सत्यं नन्दस्य सचिवः कविः ।
दध्यौ स्वचेतसि स्पष्टं विस्मयाकुलमानसः ।।
When Kavi heard that passionate utterances (of Cāṇakya), first he wondered and ascertained in his mind clearly about the personality
of Cānakya.
(35) नन्दभूपालवंशस्य समर्थस्य महीतले ।
नाशं करिष्यति क्षिप्रं एष कोऽपि महानरः ।।

This great person is quite capable to destroy quickly the whole dynasty of the Nanda kings, who are mighty on the earth. (36) चिन्तयित्वा चिरं तत्र सभामध्ये जनाकुले ।
श्लोकमेकं लिलेखेमं कविर्विस्मितचेतसा ।।
Greatly amazed at his revelation, kavi wrote a verse thoughtfully, on the central pillar of the court of Nandas, always bustled with people, in an astonished mood.
(37) नरेणैकशरीरेण (? शक्यमेकसहस्रेण) नयशास्त्रयुतेन च ।
व्यवसायेन युक्तेन जेतुं शक्या वसुन्धरा ।।
A person wellversed in the science of polity and having great resolve with efforts, is able to win the whole earth with the help of a
thousand warriors.
(38) अन्यदाऽयं विलोक्यात्र श्लाकमेकं विचक्षणः ।
लिलेख निजहस्तेन चाणाक्यो धीरमानसः ।।
(39) नरेणैकशरीरेण नयशास्त्रयुतेन च ।
व्यवसायेन युक्तेन जेतुं शक्या वसुन्धरा ।।
Once Caṇakya saw the verse (written on the pillar). The witty and courageous Cāṇākya wrote another verse with his own hand (carrying out a slight important change). 'A person alone, wellversed is able to win the whole earth.'
