The translation of the above passage would run thus: - The famous hero Gajapati Purusottamadeva, the son of Kapilendradeva, the crest jewel of solar dynasty, was the very embodiment of Fortune of the earth. Mangaladeva, born in the Kāśyapa lineage, and most esteemed among scholars was his (Purusottama's ) fast friend from his childhood. Poet Mārkandeya, son of Mangaladeva, oomposed this Kāvya for the pleasure of Lord Hari after propitiating duly goddess Sarasvati when Pratāparudradeva (-Śrī Rudra ), son of Purusottama, the destroyer of enemies, was ruling over the earth stretched upto the ocean. May this new poem of mine, devoted to a fraction of virtues of Sri Rama,. the ocean of virtues, render constant satisfaction to the delighted souls as long as the earth rests on the hood. of the Lord of Serpents and the sun moves around the Lokāloka mountain. Here ends the twentieth canto narrating the coronation of Śrī Rāma in Ayodhyā, of DVM composed by Kavirājacakracakravarti Mārkaņdeya by name, son of Sri Mangaladeva born of the famous Kāśyapa lineage."
