Foreword
(First Edition) It gives me much pleasure to recommend this handy volume of Prakrita Vignanapathamala, so ably prepared by Acharya Shri Kasturvijayaji. It is a matter highly creditable to the Acharya Shri to have known the needs and tastes of the present-day students of Ardhamagadhi, studying in secondary schools as well as in Arts Colleges. Acharya Shri Kasturvijayaji, is a learned saint, enjoying the privilege of being the pupil of Acharya Vijay Vignansuri, one of the chief disciples of the wellknowa great Jain Acharya Vijaya Nemisuriswarji, and his deep knowledre and seholarship of the Agama and Prakrit Literature are well reflected in the present book.
The study of the present volume is expected to give a double advantage. Not only it introduces the student to the field of Ardha-magadhi Literature, but it makes him also familiar with the beautiful passages of the Agama Literature. I have seen about a dozen elementary books of this type, but I am glad to note that the present book.
