क्रमांक 35 में दिगम्बरत्व को निश्चिन्तता का साधन बताते हुए लिखती है-“वस्त्रों से विमुक्त रहने के कारण मनुष्य के पास अन्य चिंताएं नहीं रहती है। उसे कपड़े धोने के लिए पानी को भी जरूरत नहीं पड़ती है। निग्रंथ लोगों ने/दिगम्बर जैन मुनियों ने पाप-पुण्य,भले-बुरे का भेद-भाव मिटा दिया है। वे भला अपने विकारों को छुपाने के लिए वस्त्रों को क्यों धारण करें।
इतिहासातीत काल से आज तक दिगम्बर जैन साधुओं का प्रतिष्ठापूर्वक विहार होता रहा है। यहां तक कि मुगलकाल में भी जैन मुनियों ने सम्मानपूर्वक विहार कर अपने अमृतोपदेश से इस धरावासियों को उपकृत किया है। प्रो. आयंगर ने लिखा है कि “जैन आचार्य अपनी चारित्र सिद्धियों एवं ज्ञान के कारण अलाउद्दीन और औरंगजेब जैसे बादशाहों से भी वंदित थे।"3 औरंगजेब के समय में भारत आने वाले डा. वर्नियर ने लिखा कि “मुझे बहुधा देशी रियासतों में दिगम्बर मुनियों का समुदाय मिलता था। मैंने उन्हें बडे शहरों में पूर्णतया नग्न विहार करते हए देखा है तथा उनकी ओर स्त्रियों तथा लडकियों को बिना किसी विकार युक्त दृष्टिप करते हुए ही देखा है। उन महिलाओं के अंतःकरण में वे ही भाव होते थे जो सड़क पर से जाते हुए किसी साधु के देखने पर होते हैं। महिलाएं भक्तिपर्वक उनको बहधा आहार कराती थीं।"
इतना ही नहीं उस काल में जैन मुनियों का सबसे अधिक सम्मान था। वे सर्वत्र आ-जा सकते थे। इस बात को बताते हुए एक अन्य विद्वान् 'मेक क्रिण्डल' लिखते हैं-"दिगम्बर विहार करने वाले यह जैन मुनि कष्टों की परवाह नहीं करते थे। वे सबसे अधिक सम्मान की दृष्टि से देखे जाते थे। प्रत्येक धनी व्यक्ति का घर उनके लिए उन्मुक्त था। यहा तक कि वे अंतःपर में भी जा सकते थे।
