EIGHT ARABIC AND PERSIAN INSCRIPTIONS. who alone is to be worshipped according to the Qorán verse [Sur. lxxii., 18], "Verily, the Mosques belong to God; worshipno one else with Him," by the slave who trusts in the helping God, Ahmad Shah, son of Muhammad Shah, son of Muzaffar, the king. And the date of its erection is the 4th Shawal 817 A.H. [17th December, 1.14. II.-Ahmad Shah's Jami' Mosque. Translation. This lofty edifice and extensive Mosque was bailt by the slave who trusts and returns and has recourse to the mercy of God who is kind, who alone is to be worshipped according to the Qoran verse, "Verily, the Mosques belong to بني هذا البناء الرفيع والمسجد الوسيع العبد الراجي و الثاني الملتجي الى رحمة الله المنان غير مدعو احد مهر ابداً لقول الله تعالى وان المساجد لله ولا تدعوا مع الله احدا الواثق بالله المستعان ناصرالدنيا والدين ابو الفتح احمد شاه بن محمد شاه بن مظفر السلطان و كان تاريخ بنائه من هجرة النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم الغرة من صفر ختمه الله بالخير و الظفر سنه سبع و عشرین و ثما نهاية || قال الله تبارک و تعالى و إن المساجد لله فلا تدعوا مع الله احدا و قال النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم من بنى مسجدا لله بني الله له بيتا مثله في الجنة بني عمارة هذا المسجد الجامع في عهد سلطان السلاطين ناصرالدنيا والدين ابوالفتح محمود شاه بن محمد احمد شاه بن محمد شاه بن مظفر السلطان | God; worship no one else with Him by the زاد المخاطب من حضرت الأعلى والملجاء المعلى بدستور الملك بديم الله معاليه ابتغاء مرضات الله | Muzaffar, the king. The date of its erection شاه بن العبد الراجي برحمت الله المالک الملک غنی خاصہ و طلبا لجزيل ثوابه وكان في العاشر من شهر on him !) is the first day of Safar (may the month شعبان سنہ (illegible ثما نهاية || slave) who trusts in the helping God, Nâşir uddunya waddin Abul Fath Ahmad Shah, son of Muhammad Shah, son of from the flight of the Prophet (God's blessings end successfully and victoriously!) of the year 827. [4th January, 1424.] III.-Hazári Shah's Mosque. قال الله تعالى وان المساجد المه فلا تدعوا مع الله احدا 291 Translation. God Almighty says,-"Verily, the Mosques belong to God; worship no one else with him." And the Prophet (God's blessings on him!) says "He who builds a Mosque for God, will have a house built for him by God in Paradise." The edifice of this Mosque was built during the reign of the king of kings, Qutb uddunyâ waddin Abul Muzaffar Ahmad Shah, son of Muhammad Shah, son of Ahmad Shah, son of Muhammad Shah, son of Muzaffar, the king, by the slave who has need of God the helper-I mean Sha'bân, son of Tuhfah, the royal, who has the title of 'Imad al-Mulk, the Lord Chamberlain, from a desire to obtain the favour of God and to get his great reward. This took place on the 2nd Janada I. 856. 21st May, 1452. IV.-Dastur Khan's Mosque. Translation. God who is blessed and great, has said, "Verily the Mosques belong to God; worship no one with him." And the Prophet (God's blessings on him!) has said, “ He who builds a mosque for | وقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم من بنى مسجدالله God, will have a house like it built by Gol for | بني الله له بيتا في الجنة بني عمارة هذا المسجد في عهد سلطان السلعين قطب الدنيا والدين ابوالمظفر احمد شاہ him in Paradise." The edifice of this Jami' Mosque was built during the reign of the king of kings Nâ çir uddunya waddin Abul Fath Mahmûd Shah, son of Muhammad بن محمد شاه بن احمد شاه بن محمدشاہ بن مظفر السلطان تحفه - Shah, son of Ahmad Shah, son of i n | العبد المفتقر الى الله المستعان اعنی شعبان ابن hammad Shah, son of Muzaffar, the | السلطاني المخاطب بعماد الملك عارض ممالک ابتغاء king, by the slave who hopes to obtain the لمرضات الله وطلبا لجزيل ثوابه وكان ذلك في تاريخ Khasah -zad, who has received from his | الثاني من جمادى الأول سنة ست وخمسين وثمانماية || mercy of God, the Mâlik Malik Ghani Quotations from the Qorin are introduced by gála allahu ta'ala, 'God says'; quotations from the Hadis by qala al-nabi, the Prophet says."
