= Seven in the beginning Eight in the end Six nines in the middle = 89999997
Jain (Khubchandra) remarked that it is three-less - nine crore. (15] Hence we deduce that the beginning' stands for unit-place. In other words the LWM is employed for expression. After displaying logical computation, Jaini (J.L.) '° interpreted it as 89999997 whereas it is 79999998 according to Shastri (N.C.
Jain). 23
2.7 Numbers Together with Common Place Value
In this method two or more numbers are expressed together by intersecting their highest denominational value. Some instances from the GKK are as follows -
UTCHTTUTTI (276 KK) = Nine - Seven - fifty = 59, 57 paffurf (277 KK) = Two - Three - Five - sixty = 62, 63, 65 faulu 80014 CTI (706 KK) = Three-Five - Six -Nine - twenty = 23, 25, 26, 29
VITHACHTO (103 KK) = Seventeen - One-hundred = 117, 101
hers 2.8 Alpha-Numbers
.: Nemicandra has constituted 17 alpha- numbers by Katapayadi system in
his works. All these are discussed part by part in the paper ‘Nemicandrācāryakrta Grantho mem Aksara Samkhyāo kā Prayoga' (The use of Alpha - Numbers in Nemaicandrācārya's works). [7a] These have been constituted by applying the first and the second variant of Katapayadi system. The RWM is especially applied for the five ending and the zero ending numbers. The smallest and the largest alpha- number in his works are 'T' (44JK) i.e. 32 and 'तललीनमधुगविमलंधूमसिलागाविचारेभयमेरूतट i.e. 79228162514264337593543950336 respectively. Both are under the LWM.'
Some innovations have been made by him in constituting the aplha numbers. After keen observation of his coding system, one may tempt to deem him as computer scientist.[7a] 2.9 Numbers by Abbriviation
Paparan (96 JK) = Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth fafya (180 JK) = Third, Second, Fifth, Fourth
This method has been developed on the basis that one letter of the word represents the whole word.
Datta (B.C.) notes in the gāthā (66TLS) that the number 65536 is denoted
