________________ 108 ) SANMATI-TARRA [ II. 43 (attachment), Dveşa (hatred) and Moha (infatuation) are also the non-essential modificatory changes of the Jiva (Soul). • Just as Śästras (Canonical Literature declare that Kevala-jñāna is three fold as aforesaid, so also the Vaibhāvika-paryāya (non-essential modificatóry changes) such as Rāga etc. are also tbreefold. Shastric statement as regards this classification with respect to every Paryāya indicates that in the view of the great Lord there is not only the identity amongst Paryāyas but difference algo. Without difference or dissimilarity, there cannot be numerical diversity in modificatory changes also and therefore Bheda (non-identity) as between Dravya and Paryāya should be Sastrically believed in just as Abheda. In short, Dravya and Paryāya are somewhat Bhinna and somewhat Abhinna. There is identity in difference and difference in identity. 43 Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
