Our Cultural Heritage
CHILDREN, WEALTH AND CULTURE
People call the present time as the age of science but, that scientific knowledge is book oriented, sense oriented and mind-oriented, so that it has several limitations. That kind of knowledge cannot be directly helpful in achieving what our Indian sages call the selfknowledge (self-realization) or divine knowledge. Another characteristic of this age is that there are only two kind of efforts possible for such modernists, reformists and materialists; viz. accumulating lot of wealth by any methods and manners, and then spend that money for personal, selfish, unnecessary worldly pleasures, off color activities and sensual enjoyment. Any society in which such objectives/activities become the main stay of life, then that society becomes merrymaking, spiritless, weak, selfish and corrupt with other vices that will soon lead it to its own extinction.
