________________ 58 Our Cultural Heritage Today, in the name of fashion, vulgarity, noncivility and childishness have spread to the extent of shamelessness and lowly attitude of bodily parts exhibitions in public. The unrestrained activities of fashion shows, which are inconsistent with and detrimental to Indian cultural values, should be kept in check by civil u groups and women's organizations in the society. Indian culture clearly believes that modesty is the best ornament for women. When the limit of that modesty is crossed over, which is partially happening now, then the death knell of majestic Indian Traditions will be heard. Therefore with awakening, let us resolve to protect our gentle, brilliant and proud traditions. In every country, its own traditions are accepted. Indian culture accepts novelty, beauty, elegance and variety, however it o discourages the sensual dress and its wearing manner, movies, advertisements, and crime promoting literature, all of which inappropriately excite the senses and lead to character-degradation in the name of modernity. To stop such adversities, we should concentrate on culturization from child-hood, parental comfort, and fine arts.
