Chapter-4
IMPORTANCE OF DUTY
Our Cultural Heritage
In general, man can be considered as a social animal. He is born in the society, grows up in the society, works with and within the society and at the end of his life, he takes off from that society for the long journey ahead.
Wherever he may be circumstantially, he has to do his duties. In this respect, both Eastern as well as Western thinkers agree that to do one's duty conscientiously is divine (duty is deity), and performing one's duty accordingly is like worshipping God.
Let us go over some duties for various spheres of daily life :
(1) Parents should rear the children and give them education, culture and religion. Children should give love, respect and service to the parents.
(2) Husband-wife should become adaptable to each other in every respect and brighten their marriage as well as their entire household life.
