Our Cultural Heritage
35 years, thoughtful and discretionary person starts developing his religious interest by good-reading, frequent visits to spiritual study-groups, occasional service to temple-place of pilgrimage-religious place; and after retirement, accelerates his spiritual activities more systematically and carefully.
The ultimate goal of Indian life-style is to achieve true happiness, divine knowledge and finally Realization of God. That is why great rishies have recommended the organization of life into four divisions, so that gradually divine life can be achieved. The death can not destroy our existence, because we (our soul) are non-aging, immortal, full of bliss and like divine light. We should conquer death by direct Self-Realization, wherein our true and unimaginably great nature is revealed irrevocably.
While concluding this chapter, we can say that at this age, we should keep our worldly duties secondary and fulfill our obligations to institutions, society and the nation selflessly. For fulfilling the ultimate goal of Self-Realization, we should give top priority in life to spiritual company, achievement of virtues, and noble thoughts. Only by following such routine that this human birth will be successful and retirement will become permanent in its true spiritual sense; just as said in Shrimad Bhagvat Gita "that highest divine place is mine from where nobody returns once gone there."
