Devendra's Com.. on Uttara...XXX1. 10 however gives the nine rules of celibacy as follows :
वसहि कह निसिज्जिन्दिय कुड्डिन्तरपुव्वकोलिय पणीए ।
बइमायाहार विभूसणा य नव बम्भगुत्तीओ ॥१॥ (b) णवपयत्थपरिमाणु णिहालिउ, he realised the extent of nine entities, viz., जीव, अजीव, पुण्य, पाप, आस्रव, संवर, निर्जरा, बन्ध, and मोक्ष.
(10) दसविहु जिणधम्मु वियाणियउ, he knew the tenfold qualities of the Jina, viz.,
खन्ती य मज्जवज्जव मुत्ती तव संजमे य बोद्धव्वो।
सच्चं सोयं आकिंचणं च बम्भं च जइधम्मो ॥१॥ (11) एयारह हयजडिमन अवियारह धीरहं सावयहं....पडिमउ, he also understood the eleven sahts, which lay disciples practise. These eleven sfants are :
दंसण वय सामाइय पोसह पडिमा बबम्भ सच्चित्ते ।

बारह भिक्खहं पडिमउ, he also knew the twelve प्रतिमाs of the monks. These are described in Devendra's Com. on Uttara. XXXI 11, as follows:
मासाई सत्तन्ता पढमा बिइ तइय सत्तराइदिणा ।
बहराइ एगराई भिक्खुपडिमाण बारसगं ॥१॥ The duration of the fitst framfaat is one month, of the second two months and so of the seventh seven months; of the eighth one week, of the ninth two weeks, of the tenth three weeks, of the eleventh one day and night, and of the twelfth one night. There are several things which the monk practising these sfarars is called upon to obserye. Devendra describes them as follows :
पडिवज्जइ एयामी संघयणधिईजुओ महासत्तो। पडिमाउ भावियप्पा सम्म गुरुणा अणुनाओ ॥१॥ गच्छे च्चिय निम्माओ जा पव्वा दस भवे असंपुण्णा । नवमस्स तइयवत्थु होइ जहन्नो सुयाभिगमो ॥२॥ कोसट्टचत्तदेहो उवसग्गसहो जहेव जिणकप्पी । एसण अभिग्गहीया भत्तं च अलेवडं तस्स ॥३॥ मच्छा विणिक्खमित्ता पडिवज्जइ मासियं महापडिमं । दत्तेग भोयणस्सा पाणस्स वि तत्थ एग भवे ॥४॥ जत्थत्थमेइ सूरो न तो ठाणा पथं पि संचलह । नाएगराइवासी एग व दुगं व अन्नाए ॥५॥ दुस्सहत्यिमाईण मो भएणं पयं पिओसरह। एमाइनियमसेवी विहरइ जाखण्डिओ मासो ॥६॥
