________________ KARMA PHILOSOPHY accident, (When people do not know the causes of things, they say it is ΟΙ Divine providence, or the act of God, or some expression which amounts to saying that they do not know the cause of the phenomenon). Antaraya not an Class 8. karma. Literally, Its nature is to throw obstacles in our way, we want to do certain good things. It is accident, there are certain reasons, and the philosophy explains, why the person is unable to put forth the effort of the will. Jain Education International 11 Karma apart from an individual is nothing; it is a factor of the individual, it is in him; apart from him it is mere matter and has nothing to do with his individuality. Because that person acted in a certain way, and used certain words, or entertained certain thoughts with a certain object in view, he generated certain forces which became assimilated with his individuality and therefore, he is influenced by it. It is not a real separation; it is not a difference between the karma and the individual, it is the mode of behaviour of the individual.
