________________ DASHALAXAN PARYUSHAN PARVA ** The word Parva denotes, in Jain lexicon, as a festival of Spiritual Awareness that provides a propensity for the manifestation of soul searching truths in the complexities of moral and social ethics of the Jaina way of life. Dashalaxan Paryushan parva is an annual festivity of the it Occurs sometime during the months of August-September. The festivity is marked by many religious and cultural activities for a period of ten days. Jains, and Dashalaxan Paryushan Parva is celebrated by Jains everywhere in the world. The observation is to redress the commissions and ommissions of the complexities in the normal daily life. It brings out self-analysing and soul searching issues through practice of Ahimsa, Samyam and Tapa on a synergetic strive. During this period, one's actions of the preceding past, in light of Jainic doctrines, will be constantly reviewed and will thus be resolved to accomplish spiritual purification.
