________________ .... from page 1 4 - Standardisation of the dates in observing the Parva will assist north American Jain communities to stand strong and united It is a crime to be perpetrated by us on our children, the Jain youth of north America in the present or the future, if a near-total or partial supression and denial of Jain religious and spiritual heritage is committed. The very soul and sense of identity, pride and strength of their Jain heritage are essential basics of their well-being. Reconsideration has its beginning when social evils occur due to environmental or circumstantial causes; values of cultural difference or the arrogant assumption of western version as the remedy and the failure to understand the fundamentals of Jain doctrines. Thank Lord Jina, the situation is not set infor the tragic dependence and alienation. It is essential to stress upon a balance of body, mind and spirit in Jaina living and life. Understanding the new societal environment, its impact and the adjustments, the adoptions that are necessary to replant the roots of the Jain heritage in the new land demand a non-cataclysmic casuistry for the mere survival. Together, we're the ones to make this committment. Let's march together united in all, for all and for a new horizon.
