________________ 222222 S ATMA-SIDDHI Same of Samsara. Thus it is the nature of the embodied soul to do Karmas and. to go on doing them for ever. Evidently this casts no doubt on the agency of Karmas by the soul. Perhaps the doubt is like this, when it is the nature of the soul to do so, no responsibility can be attached to it. If so, the answer is : There are good and bad actions certainly. Everyone recognises that. Discrimination between them is a function of knowledge i.e. of the soul. It can know, distinguish, and choose, therefore it is responsible. IV. The Soul Enjoys the Fruit of Karmas. The credit or discredit of an act goes to the responsible agent. Therefore it follows logically that the soul experiences the effects of the acts which it does. This is obvious also from the every-day experience of all. In misfortune even a materialist cries: 'What have I done to deserve this! V. There is Liberation. This follows from the very idea of an existing soul. For soul is found to be with matter or Karmas in our everyday life and observation. We have seen under I.
