___ In snakes etc. passions (like) anger etc. are more or less observed. This is due to the (tendencies acquired by their) actions and lives in the past incarnation. Thus also the eternity of Soul (is proved).

LABER
आत्मा द्रव्ये नित्य छे, पर्याये पलटाय । बालादि वय त्रण्यनु, ज्ञान एकने थाय ॥६८॥
आत्माऽस्ति द्रव्यतो नित्यः पर्यायैः परिणामभाक् । बालादिवयसो शानं यस्मादेकस्य जायते ॥ ६८ ॥
As a substance the soul is eternal, its modifications change, Through boyhood, youth, old age etc. the man has the knowledge of being the same one person.
Commentary.--Here the nature of substance is given. A substance is a collection of Attributes and Modifications. It exists and remains the same throughout all its modifications, which change.
69 अथवा ज्ञान क्षणिकनु, जे जाणी वदनार । वदनारो ते क्षणिक नहीं, कर अनुभव निर्धार ॥६९॥
क्षणिकं वस्त्विति झात्वा यः क्षणिकं वदेदहो! । स वक्ता क्षणिको नाऽस्ति तदनुभवनिश्चितम् ॥ ६९॥
