मुमुतुर्यदि जीवः स्याजानातीमा विचारणाम् । मतार्थी यदि जीवः स्याजानीयाद् विपरीतताम् ॥२२ ।।
The soul seeking Liberation, understands this (path of Reverence and faith). The bigotted soul seeking its own whims (and their delusion) certainly makes a perverse use of it.

Characteristics of a Bigot. होय मतार्थी तेहने, थाय न आतमलक्ष । तेह मतार्थी लक्षणो, अहीं कहां निर्पक्ष ।।२३।।
मतार्थी पुरुषो यः स्यानात्मान्वेषी स संभवेत् । तस्याऽत्र लक्षणं प्रोक्तं पक्षदोषविवर्जितम् ॥२३॥
He who is a bigot (or fanatic), has no inclination to soul (knowledge). Of such bigots, here I describe the characteristics impartially.

Teachers. बाह्यत्याग पण ज्ञान नहीं, ते माने गुरु सत्य । अथवा निजकुलधर्मना, ते गुरुमां ज ममत्व ॥२४॥
शानहीनं गुरुं सत्यं, बाह्यत्यागपरायणम् । मन्येत, वा ममत्वं वै कुलधर्मगुरौ धरेत् ॥ २४ ॥
